The island has some beauty spots hidden in the depths of the pines, green oaks and saltmarshes. Its mild climate is ideal for mimosas and fig trees. Cycling is the only way to really get to know the villages with their narrow streets.

To get to the island, cross the bridge or the Passage du Gois. Before the bridge was built, the road across the passage was the only link to the island. The Gois can only be crossed at low tide
